Key Club Agenda, 03/06/2012

Key Club Pledge
I pledge, on my honor, to uphold the objects of Key Club International, to build my home, school, and community, to serve my nation and God, and to combat all forces which tend to undermine these institutions.

Business

Thanks to all who participated in the Little Angels supply drive! Your efforts will truly help the organization.

Service Projects

Adopt-A-Family Easter
Tri-City Family Services is looking for volunteers to put together food baskets that they will distribute to families in the area. Members can bring in non-perishable food items for a ham dinner, as well as Easter decorations, candy, paper goods and any special seasonal treats. You can also bring in a grocery gift card. Please drop anything you bring in the baskets in the Key Club Office! Questions? Call Sarah at (630) 205-0019

Jared Boxes
The Jared Box Project is named after a little boy who lost his fight with cancer. A Jared Box is simply a box filled with toys that is given to a child in the Children’s Hospital of Illinois. Here’s how to make a Jared Box:
1. Get a shoebox-size plastic storage box.
2. Choose a gender and age group that the box will be for (male/female ages 0-2, 2-4, 4-8, 8-11, 11-14, 14+). Print out the label and attach it to the box.
3. Fill the box with toys appropriate to the gender and age group you’ve picked. They don’t have to be expensive, a dollar store is a good place to find things. For suggestions, go to http://www.thejaredbox.com/makeAJaredBox.html
4. Decorate the box: make a card or draw a picture and put it in the box.
5. Bring the box to our next meeting or drop it off in the Key Club office.
Questions? Go to http://www.thejaredbox.com/makeAJaredBox.html for more information, or call Morgan or Sarah at (630) 440-2479 and (630) 205-0019

Jared Box Decorating
At our next meeting, our service project will be decorating the Jared Boxes made by our members before we send them to the Children’s Hospital. Make sure you and some friends make a Jared Box so we have something to decorate!

District Convention Contests
Even if you’re not going to Dcon, you can still help our club by participating in one of the many available contests for club members like the poster or t-shirt design contest. If you’re interested, pick up a sign-up form. Questions? Call Morgan at (630) 440-2479

Brighton Gardens
Come visit with the residents everyday during social hour from 2:30-3:10. Questions? Call Sarah at (630) 205-0019

Salvation Army Tutoring
Come afterschool Monday-Friday from 2:45-6 and help tutor elementary students or stock the food pantry. Questions? Call Kristin at (630) 346-7757

Living Well Cancer Center
Please bring in baked goods to our next meeting to be donated to Living Well. Each baked good item is worth one service hour. On Tuesday and Wednesday nights, students can also help out at
the center. Questions? Call Kaitlin at (630) 999-1123

Calling all Photographers
We need people to take pictures of our club in action! Taking pictures of you and your friends at Key Club service projects will earn you an extra service hour. Send your pictures to Sarah at sarahdugan1213@aol.com

Service Project Ideas Managers
Do you have an idea for a service project for our club? If you know of a service project idea through your participation with a church or youth group, another club or sport, the park district, or some other agency and would like to see if other Key Club members could help, then we want to know! You can earn service hours as a project manager and can help expand our club involvement in the community. Simply bring your ideas and a contact name and number to any officer to get your project started.
