Key Club Pledge
I pledge, on my honor, to uphold the objects of Key Club International, to build my home, school, and community, to serve my nation and God, and to combat all forces which tend to undermine these institutions.

Key Club Information for New Members
Welcome to Key Club! We are a service-oriented organization and the biggest club at St. Charles East.
Code of Conduct
Turn in Code of Conduct forms at the next meeting.
Membership and Dues
Dues are $20 and due by the end of October. You need to pay dues every year in order to be a full member. You do not receive a new membership card each year. Your membership number remains the same. Only first-time members get a card.
Service Projects
Haunted Hike: Create Your Own Scene!
Are you creative? Dramatic? Love Halloween? Then sign up to create and execute your own scary scene at the Three Fires Council’s annual Haunted Hike. The hike is on a weekend in mid-late October, but start thinking of ideas now! This will require time commitments outside of club meetings, and we need as many people as possible! Questions? Kiwanis Peanut Days
Last year, the St. Charles Kiwanis Club raised over $15,000 during their annual Peanut Days. Sign up to help them this year! Check the sign-up sheets for specific dates and times. Questions? Call Sarah at (630) 205-0019.
Triple Threat Softball Tournament
Triple Threat is an organization that focuses on athletics, academics, and arts to help urban youth recognize their full potential. Volunteer to help out with their 5th grade softball tournament on Oct 15th from 9:00-4:00. Morning and afternoon shifts available—sign up for more information. Questions? Fall Leadership Rally
Come meet other Key Clubs for a day of service and fun on October 2nd at Hinsdale Central High School from 12:00-4:00! Bring 20-25 filled water balloons and three non-perishable food items to attend. Park District Restoration Days
Join the Eco-Minded club and help restore our natural environment every Saturday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Sept. 24th @ Persimmon Woods—adjacent to Keim Road. Oct. 1st @ Hickory Knolls Natural Area. Oct. 8th @ Norris Woods Nature Preserve. Be sure to fill out a Park District volunteer form. Questions? Call Sarah at (630) 205-0019
Humanitarian Service Project
HSP is an organization that helps to alleviate the suffering inflicted by poverty. Sign up to volunteer on September 21st or September 28th from 3:00-5:30. Questions? Call Jeanine at (630) 337-3116
Key Leader
Key Leader is an amazing opportunity for members and non-members alike. This weekend-long event (Oct. 21st-23rd) is a great way to develop leadership skills and have fun. Grab some friends and register by Oct. 7th. Questions? Call Morgan at (630) 440-2479
Tri-Cities CROP Walk
CROP supports local food pantries and supplies food to people in Africa. Help them in their fundraising efforts at the annual Tri-Cities CROP Walk on October 16th. Registration begins at 1:15, step-off is at 2:00. Sign up to get an envelope—you can register on the day of the walk. Questions? Call Morgan at (630) 440-2479.
Salvation Army Tutoring
Come afterschool Monday-Friday from 2:45-6 and help tutor elementary students or stock the food pantry. Questions? Call Kristin at (630) 346-7757
Living Well Cancer Center
Please bring in baked goods to our next meeting to be donated to Living Well. Each baked good item is worth one service hour. On Tuesday and Wednesday nights, students can also help out at the center. Questions? Call Kaitlin at (630) 999-1123
Brighton Gardens
Come visit with the residents everyday during social hour from 2:30-3:10. Questions? Call Sarah at (630) 205-0019
Youth Opportunities Fund Grant
Our Key Club can apply for a grant up to $2,000 dollars for a particularly amazing project. Let any of the officers or advisors know if you have a great idea for a big service project.

We need people to take pictures of our club in action! Taking pictures of you and your friends at Key Club service projects will earn you an extra service hour. Send your pictures to Sarah at sarahdugan1213@aol.com

Do you have an idea for a service project for our club? If you know of a service project idea through your participation with a church or youth group, another club or sport, the park district, or some other agency and would like to see if other Key Club members could help, then we want to know! You can earn service hours as a project manager and can help expand our club involvement in the community. Simply bring your ideas and a contact name and number to any officer to get your project started.

Spastic Paralysis Fundraiser (likely with Jersey Mikes). The district-wide goal is to raise $45,000—about five dollars a member--to make an informative video about this condition.
The Eliminate Project. Kiwanis wants to erase neo-natal tetanus from the earth by 2015. Look out for more information on what our Key Club is doing to help.
March of Dimes. The March of Dimes is a leader and pioneer in the fight to save babies. They are now working on ways to solve the problems of prematurity, low birth weight, and birth defects. Learn more about a family affected by this organization at the Fall Leadership Rally.
